Studio Policies

Kirsten Brents offers in-home piano and voice lessons for students beginning at the age of 5. For any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out!

By agreeing to lessons, you are also agreeing to any and all policies listed below. Policies are subject to change.

General policies

• Tuition is due on the first of every month. Payment is accepted via Venmo or Zelle (Venmo: @khillsings). Failure to pay before the first lesson of the month will result in cancellation.
• A registration fee of $60 per family is billed yearly, each August or when your student registers.
• Piano students must have access to a piano in their home for both lessons and practice.
• Students are expected to practice outside of lessons. While we accomplish a lot in our 30-minute lesson time, regular practice at home is vital-just like with sports!
• Students are responsible for the cost of new music or lesson books (typically $5-$25/month, depending on readiness for new material).
• If a lesson must be canceled (by teacher or student) with at least 24 hours notice, one makeup may be scheduled per month, subject to availability. Makeups do not roll over from month to month.
• Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice forfeit that week's lesson without refund and are not eligible for a makeup.
• To keep every student healthy, please keep your child home when they are sick. If a student arrives too unwell to take part, they will be kindly sent home to rest, and that lesson is not refunded.
• Holidays follow the Katy ISD school calendar unless otherwise stated.
• Planned absences will be made up, but tuition is not prorated for missed lessons.
• For extended illness or travel longer than one week, students may instead take a one-month pause with their lesson time reserved. After one month, the time is no longer guaranteed and may be given to another student.

For Students Attending Lessons in My Home

Please arrive on time with all materials. Lessons often run back-to-back, so late arrivals cannot be extended past the scheduled end time.
